24/7 International Security Officers’ Day: Thank You to the Thriving SecurePro Team

24 July marks International Security Officers’ Day — a date chosen to reflect the 24/7 nature of security work and to encourage the public, employers and clients to recognise the contribution that security professionals make every day.

At SecurePro, we want to use this moment to do something simple, but important: say thank you.

Security work is more than “being present”

Great security is rarely about the dramatic moments. Most of the time, it’s the steady, consistent, professional work that makes the difference:

  • A calm presence that reassures the public
  • Clear communication that prevents problems escalating
  • Good judgement, applied quickly and fairly
  • Strong teamwork across multiple roles and zones
  • A commitment to safety, service, and doing the right thing even when nobody is watching

When it’s done properly, security creates the conditions for everyone else to enjoy an event, run a venue, or go about their day with confidence.

The people behind the uniform

Across festivals, stadiums, concerts, public events, and licensed premises, SecurePro teams take on a wide variety of responsibilities — often in challenging environments, changing weather, long shifts, and high-pressure situations.

From our supervisors and SIA-licensed operatives to our stewards, response teams, search teams, and operational support, every role matters. Every shift contributes to the bigger picture: safer spaces, better-managed crowds, stronger compliance, and a better experience for the public.

Professionalism under pressure

Security professionals are expected to balance multiple priorities at once: protecting people, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, supporting event operations, maintaining access control and site integrity, and responding to incidents quickly and proportionately.

That requires more than visibility — it requires:

  • Training and competence
  • Consistency and discipline
  • Respectful communication
  • Accurate reporting and accountability
  • A customer-focused approach

These are the qualities our clients rely on and the standards our teams deliver.

A message of thanks — from us to you

To every SecurePro team member: thank you.

Thank you for the early starts and late finishes.
Thank you for staying switched on when it’s busy, loud, crowded, and unpredictable.
Thank you for looking after the public and looking out for each other.
Thank you for representing SecurePro with professionalism, integrity, and pride.

We’re proud of what you do — and proud of the way you do it.

Today, take a moment to recognise security professionals

International Security Officers’ Day is also a reminder to everyone — clients, partners, and members of the public — that a quick “hello” or “thank you” can go a long way. Security professionals are often the first people you see on arrival and the last people still working as venues clear down.

If you see a security officer today, consider taking a moment to acknowledge them.

From all of us at SecurePro: thank you to our team — and to security professionals everywhere.
